When you have a friend who thinks he looks like Dragon Ball Z, is super talented in the kitchen and has aspirations to own a food truck; you get a logo like this. It never came to fruition for Chop Dewey, but this surely was a fun logo to design. It began by creating this playful typeface with knifelike ascenders and graffiti inspired outline. The character I gave a minimalist Japanime style; integrating it into the wordmark by using it’s head as an “o”. The chopping knife fit in the negative space of the “h” quite nicely.
